Sartin and Gileon B Thompson, charged with garroting and robbing William Rowe of $40, were tried and acquitted. James Smith, Michael Holland, Patrick Livingston, Wm. Baker, Wm. Brown, and George Brown, sent on by the Mayor for garroting Philip L. Gregory, and robbing him of $87 and a silver watch, were examined.--Smith, Holland, and Livingston, were sent on to answer for felony at the next criminal George Brown, sent on by the Mayor for garroting Philip L. The other three were discharged. Chas. C. Pedrick was arraigned to answer the charge of feloniously stabbing and killing John Mossering, but before the witnesses for the Commonwealth concluded their evidence the Court took a recess till 4½ o'clock.
