Though his noble spirit took its flight when yet away from home and kindred, yet it is a consolation to us to know that he died amongst friends, where all that the hands of kindness could offer was freely rendered to alleviate his sufferings; and as a small token of our feeling of this sad occurrence, we unanimously concur in the following resolutions, viz: Resolved, That in the death of our beloved fellow soldier, Dr. Thos. F. J. Williams, we have lost a firm friend and companion and our country a brave defender. Resolved, That we hereby tender our heartfelt sympathies to his deeply bereaved family, and mingle our grief with them in the loss we all sustain. Resolved, That the foregoing preamble and resolutions be entered upon our company records, and a copy sent to the family of the deceased and one forwarded to the Richmond Dispatch, with the request to assign them a place in its columns.
