It was in the battle of Corinth, in the Kentucky, Tennessee and North Georgia campaigns, and lost heavily in the battles of Farmington, Perryville, Murfreesboro and Kenesaw Mountain. From Dalton to Atlanta it lost 5 men, and at Nashville lost 28 men. As it was during the greater part of the war in the Capt. C. L. Lumsden, was organized at Tuscaloosa, and reported at Mobile, November, 1861. After the battle of Shiloh, it relieved Gage's battery at Tupelo.
