Examination.
--Yesterday and the day before, the Hustings Court were closely engaged to the examination of Joseph H. Crenshaw, charged with shooting John Askew, some few months since.
A number of witnesses were examined for the Commonwealth, no two of whom testified alike as to the details of the shooting.
Askew seemed to have an indefinite recollection of some of the circumstances, but would not swear positively as to what passed.
The argument was commenced about 12 o'clock, Mr. Daniel for the Commonwealth, and Messrs. August, Morson and Crump for the defence, and continued to a late hour.
At the conclusion of the argument, the Court, by a divided vote, remanded the accused for final trial before Judge Lyons, in February next, and admitted him to bail in $10,000, which he readily gave.
