Lightning and New milk. --During the heavy thunder storm on Wednesday afternoon the residence of Secretary Mallory, on 10th street, was struck by lightning, the fluid tearing away a portion of the brick cornice, shattering a window frame and sash, and entering and setting fire to the small room in the northeast corner. Dense smoke instantly issued from it, and to all appearance the fire was beyond control, when a young son of Mr. Mallory rushed into the room and succeeded in extinguishinom in the northeast corner.
