The man, Henry L. Martin, who was arrested by the Confederate authorities as a "suspicious person," and who was carried before Judge Merideth, Saturday, on a writ of habeas corpus, was discharged by the Judge, no cause for his detention having been shown. As the prosecuting attorney had instituted proceedings against him under the law of Virginia, the Judge remanded him to answer whatever might be alleged to his discredit. The Judge, however, said that he would have discharged the accused on both charges if he had the power. We state these facts in addition to what was said yesterday, as an act of justice to the accused.
