Missouri State Convention. Sr. Louis, Feb. 28. --The State Convention met at Jefferson City at 11 o'clock yesterday morning. Judge Orr called the Convention to order. Judge Hamilton R. Gamble, of St. Louis, was elected temporary Chairman, and S. L. Miner, of Cole county, temporary Secretary. Committees on credentials and permanent organization were appointed, when, it being found that only seventy-five members were present, the Convention adjourned till 10 o'clk next day. Ex-Gov. Sterling Price will probably be the permanent President. After a permanent organization has been effected, the Convention will probably adjourn to St. Louis, the Mercantile Library Hall being tendered for that purpose. The news of the adjournment of the Peace Conference and the passage of Corwin's propositions in the House, produced a pleasant effect upon the members.
