General Assembly of Virginia.[Extra session.] Senate. Thursday, Jan. 17, 1861.
The Senate was called to order at 12 o'clock, Mr. Isbell in the chair.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Minnegerode, of St. Paul's Church.
A communication was received from the House announcing the passage, by that body, of the Senate bill entitled an act allowing persons elected Commissioners of the Revenue at the last general election, and who failed to qualify within the time prescribed by law, to qualify as such in certain cases.
Reconstruction of Militia Brigades, &c.--A communication was received from the Governor, in response to a resolution of the Senate, passed on the 10th inst., in regard to the reconstruction of the Militia Brigades and Division Districts of the State.
Laid on the table and ordered to be printed.
Bills Reported.--The following bills were reported from various committees: A bill to incorporate "St. Paul's Church Home;" a bill amending and re-enacting the act en
