Night session. The Senate was called to order at 8 o'clock, Lieut, Gov.Montague in the chair. House bill to organize the Metropolitan Guards of Richmond was taken up and passed, and communicated to the House. There being no further business before the Senate, the chair was vacated by the President, after which Mr. Wickham was called to the chair, and Mr. Johnson offered the following resolution, which was adopted: Resolved, That the Senate hereby bear renewed testimony to the ability, fidelity, and impartiality with which Lieut. Gov. Robert l. Montague has during the present session, discharged the duties of presiding officer of this body. After a short recess, the Lieut. Governor resumed the chair, and Mr. Johnson offered the following resolution: Resolved, That the House of Delegates be informed that the Senate is ready to adjourn to the 1st Monday in December next. The resolution was adopted, and was communicated to the House by Mr. Johnson.
