learn that Captain Wm. Francis McLean, late of the Ben McCulloch Rangers, has been tendered the position of Lieutenant Colonel of a regiment commanded by Colonel J. C. Morehead, of Kentucky, a nephew of Governor Morehead, imprisoned for his loyalty to the South in Fort Lafayette.
