with unabated interest, and that it is also necessary to my own vindication, from certain mis-statements which have been copied into our newspapers from Northern sources. I shall make it as brief as possible, confiding it mainly to facts, and denouncing, in advance, as false and unfounded, anything in conflict with it which may have appeared in the journal, of the United States.
