Virginia Legislature. [Extra session.] Senate. Saturday, February 11, 1865. The Senate was called to order at noon. House bill providing for the completion of the Covington and Ohio railroad and the construction of the branches thereof, read twice and referred to Committee on Roads and Internal Improvements. Mr. Newton, from the Committee on Military Affairs, reported a bill providing for the exemption from the military service of the State, or in any reserved force of this Commonwealth, of certain employees and mechanics in the service of any railroad company in this State. The Committee for Courts of Justice, to whom had been referred a resolution as to the expediency of amending the Code in relation to the jurisdiction of circuit courts in cases of divorce, reporting it inexpedient to make the change.
