The Clerk announced a message from the Senate communicating the passage of several measures, already reported, among which was a resolution to provide more suitable accommodations for the Auditors of the Commonwealth. This resolution, Mr. Newton had understood, was passed by the Senate without any examination, and as its effect would be to remove the Register, Mr. Parker, from his present office apartment, he moved that it be referred to a select committee, which was agreed to, and the following committee was, appointed: Messrs. Newton, Tate, Nelson of Eluvanna, McDonald of Hamoshire, and Magruder.
