A Virginia Matron.
Mrs. Parrish, the estimable wife of Colonel Valentine Parrish, of Cumberland, and the mother of Colonel Henry T. Parrish, of the Thirteenth Virginia Volunteers, now in her sixty-fourth year, of long-continued feeble health, and almost blind, has recently pre ted seventy (70) pairs of beautiful woolen socks, knit wholly by herself, in one package, is the officers and soldiers of the regiment to which her son is attached.
This is in addition to many similar gifts to members of the federal companies that have gone into service from Cumberland.
