Barry, tried in the Supreme Judicial Court before Mrts, p. 214. He was called into the former case by Richard Fletcher, and into the latter by Theophilus Parsons,—two friends who watched with interest his professional career. He prepared a brief for M in point. Among these were Mr. Daveis, Mr. Appleton, of Bangor, now Chief-Justice of Maine, Mr. Parsons, and his classmate Browne. Sumner's time was much occupied, in 1835-36, in revising and co
