proper case. Adjourned. In the House, the Senate bill reorganizing the State Penitentiary was discussed and passed by a vote of ayes, 100; noes, none. Senate bill for the relief of the families of soldiers living within the lines or under the control of the public enemy, was committed to the Committee on Finance. The Senate bill increasing the salaries of certain officers of the Government was also committed to a committee. A bill was reported transferring the Bank of Pittsylvania from Chatham to Danville. Mr. Pendleton moved a resolution for the Committee for Courts of Justice to inquire and report whether the present session of the General Assembly is not the session at which, by the Confederate Constitution, an election is required to be held for the election of a Senator of Virginia in the Confederate Congress. A resolution of inquiry was adopted for increasing the capital stock of the Bank of Petersburg to two millions of dollars. Adjourned.
