A Curb for DiarrhŒA. --Numerous requests having been made to republish the recipe for diarrhŒa and cholera symptoms, which we gave in our paper some weeks ago, and which was used by the troops during the Mexican war with great success, we give it below, with a very important correction of an error made in the first formula, as to the size of the dose to be given: Laudanum2 ounces. Spirits of Camphor2 ounces Essence of Peppermint2 ounces. Hoffman's Anodyne2 ounces Tincture of Cayenne Pepper2 drachms. Tincture of Ginger1 ounce. Mix all together. Dose — a teaspoonful in a little water, or a half teaspoonful, repeated in an hour afterwards, in a tablespoonful of brandy. This preparation will check diarrhŒa in ten minutes, and abate other premonitory symptoms of cholera immediately.
