I am in the country till Friday evening, refusing four or five invitations, two of which I would gladly have accepted, one to Sir Somebody rrived forty minutes later.
Not caring to go myself all the way to Rutland Gate, I drove to the Athenaeum for my breakfast, and despatched my servant thence for my letters.
