Those who knew him from early childhood,—and the writer of this notice is one of them,—knew him to be amiable, generous, honorable in his intentions, and without malice in his heart.
Many have mourned that his early promise should have been clouded by physical disease and lost in premature death; yet it is their satisfaction to remember that he gave his life to the cause of freedom and his country.
