is legion (Mississippi troops). Thomas L. Paine became captain of Company E, and M. E. Williams of Company F. The Twenty-first battalion Georgia cavalry (partisan rangers) had as officers: Maj. William B. White, Adjt. B. Green, Asst. Quartermaster William L. Platt; Capts. (A) W. D. Russell, (B) Jerry R. Johnson, (C) R. L. Miller, (D) W. H. Banks, (E) R. F. Jones.
