Slave trade cases. --A. S. Bigelow and A. H. Potter, ship-owners and outfitters of New Bedford, Mass., have been held in $10,000 ball to answer to a complaint against them for a violation of the law against the slave trade. The charge of the Government officers is that the defendants, in the latter part of August or first of September, 1850, then residing in New Bedford, fitted out the ship Brutus, sent her to the coast of Africa, procured 501 slaves, sold them in Cuba, and burnt the vessel.
