ctmen shall hire a master and divide the scholars. The next step in this comedy was another petition to the Selectmen, as follows: We the Subscribers inhabitants of the Town of Medford request you Gentlemen to call a Town Meating to know the minds of the Town, if they will furnish the Scool house at the east end of the Town and provide a Scool Master to keep in the Same as Soon as the Scool house is ready or any other mater relating thereto. Signed by Nathan Adams, Converse Francis, Isaac Pratt, and fourteen others. The meeting was held Oct. 7, 1805, and they voted To reconsider the votes passed last May for building two school houses, after which the meeting was dissolved. A warrant for another meeting was issued October 10 to determine whether the town will adopt any new measures to improve the state of the schools and school-houses in the town.
