The next case was that of — Saunders, charged with an attempt to extort money, by threats of violence, from an Italian shopkeeper. Michael Raffo testified that he came into the shop and called for cider, for which he paid, and replaced the change in his pocketbook. After a few minutes he returned, exclaiming that he had left a pocket-book, containing $47, on the counter. Raffo denying all knowledge of it, Saunders drew a bowie knife and demanded the money or Raffo's life. Raffo then paid him $47, and had him arrested. Saunders was remanded for examination, and John W. Ghio, Michael Raffo, and Pito Balochi, recognized to appear as witnesses at the Hustings Court. J. W. Satterwhite, for allowing slaves to ride in his hack without permission of their owners. Mr. Satterwhite having hired the back to a slave who had a permit to ride, was dismissed with a present of a c
persons, was committed in default of $200 security for his good behavior. Hustings Court--Judge Lyons, presiding--Saturday, Nov. 22.--William S. Conley was put on trial for inflicting sundry stabs on the person of Mary J. McMinn, wife of a grocery keeper on 2d street, three weeks since, during a drunken sprag. The jury found Conley guilty, and assessed his term of confinement at one year in the City Jail and fined him $100. The case of George L. Sanderson, charged with robbing Michael Raffo of $80, was called up, and the witnesses not being present, was continued till the next term. The robbery in this case was accomplished by violence, and the prisoner, who with several others did the deed, remained absent from the city for near a year afterwards. Galled Court.--A special session of the Hustings Court, convened at the City Hall at 11 o'clock on Friday, to examine Robert Patterson, charged with the murder of Richard McMullen, a member of the Wise Hussars, on the night

To-day, the Attorney for the Commonwealth by and with the advice of the Court, entered a nolle prosequi in the case of Hathe Court, entered a nolle prosequi in the case of Harvey Wash, under charge of counterfeiting United States gold coin--a case of two years standing — and he was thereupon discharged. Acquitted.--George S. Sanderson, who was tried before Judge Lyons's Court on Monday for feloniously obtaining $47 from Michael Raffo, by force and violence, near the Post Office, in November last, was acquitted of the offence. Mayor's Court--There was nothing of interest at the Mayor's Court yesterday.
