A foundling.
--On Tuesday evening last, a gentleman called at the St. Joseph's Asylum, on Marshall street, and requested the Sisters of Charity to receive a young child he had with him. Owing to the rules of the institution, the Sisters declined to receive the little bantling, but a kind- hearted lady in the neighborhood agreed to take charge of it until Wednesday morning, at which time the gentleman was to call and receive it. It is almost unnecessary to say that he has not since made his appearance.
A card attached to the clothing of the child is marked with the name of Edward Custar Randolph.
The foundling has since been sent to the poor-house.
