Garroting a Citizen. --Between 9 and 10 o'clock on Monday night, Mr. David Curric, while passing down Main street, near Nineteenth, was suddenly assailed by two men, who knocked him down and robbed him of a valuable gold watch. They were in the act of stealing his pocket-book and committing other outrages upon his person when the watchmen, who happened to be in the neighborhood, heard Mr. Currie's cries and came to his assistance. Two men, giving their names as Silver Jurule and Noland D. Reid, were arrested as the perpetrators of the act. Upon the person of one of them Mr. Currie's watch was found. The accused were before the Mayor for a hearing yesterday; but, owing to the serious indisposition of Mr. Currie, the case was continued till Friday.
