e 4th district of King William county, held on Thursday, the 12th July, 1861, at West Point Church, it was resolved that they form themselves into an association, to be styled the West Point Church Relief Society, for the promotion of the health and comfort of the soldiers of the Confederate army. The Society was then organized by the election of the following officers: Miss Fannie Martin, President. Mrs. Mary Neale, Vice President. Miss Sallie Lipscomb, Secretary. Miss Muertha Richards, Treasurer. On motion, it was unanimously Resolved, It shall be the duty of this Society to solicit contributions in money, labor, or any other available form. To prepare articles of food for the sick soldiers at any place within their reach, and to purchase and forward to them beds, pillows, and other necessaries.
