he following preamble and resolutions, which were unanimously adopted: Whereas,, we will soon have to vote for suitable persons to represent the county of Granville in the ensuing Legislature of North Carolina, and whereas it becomes our duty to select able and true men at this important crisis: Therefore, Resolved, That we recommend and will cheerfully support C. H. K. Taylor, Esq., for the Senate, and James S. Amis, Esq., Major C. C. Blacknall, and Capt. Eugene Gressom, for the House of Commons, knowing them to be able and patriotic men and true to the best interests of the country, and believing that ticket will be acceptable to our friends at home. Resolved, That these proceeding be published in the Richmond Dispatch, Petersburg Express, and Raleigh Standard and State Journal. The meeting then adjourned. A. D. Peace, Chairman. N. A.
