Yorktown Hospital. General Hospital, Yorktown, Va. August 9th 1861. To the Editors of the Dispatch:
--Be so kind as to allow me to say through your paper to physicians applying for positions as nurses, that I am not the proper authority.
The application should be made to the Surgeon-General, Richmond, Va. There is great need of good assistance Also, allow me to ask our kind friends sounding us articles for the sick to please sign their names, give their post offices, &c.; for, strange to say, these things are frequently neglected.
I have to thank Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Shewell, and Miss Sue Savage and neighbors, of Henrico, Va. The latter for a box, stating at the same time that the barrel has not been received. P. E. Hines, Surgeon Hospital, Per Alex Hogg.
