METHODIST Episcopal services in Medford were commenced in July, 1822, by Rev. Josiah Brackett, a local preacher of Charlestown, at the invitation of several godly members of the church in Charlestown who resided in Medford.
His first sermon was delivered in the building known as The College, which stood on Ship street, his text being the first two verses of we obey.
