The New York Herald, of the 4th says: From this city three Generals, now in the United States Army, have already been mentioned in connection with nominations for the next Congress.--Their friends seem to think that they would be of more service to the country in the halls of Congress than on the battle-field; but the Generals themselves will have something to say in the matter, and will not suffer themselves, against their inclinations, to be forced into the sea of politics. General Sickles, it is said, has been offered the Congressional nomination from the Fourth District of this city, where Ben Wood is again a candidate. Some of the friends of General Corcoran are anxious that he should permit himself to be nominated for the Fifth District.
