taken to the hospital at Greensboro and from there to a hospital in Charlotte, from which he was discharged April 14th, five days after Lee's surrender, reaching home April 19, 1865. When the war ceased he returned to Darlington and farmed until 1892, conducting also a naval store much of the time, and since 1892 he has been engaged in the livery business at Darlington.
