After a short retirement the jury found the following verdicts and assessment of punishments: Thos. Wilson, not guilty; Jas. Lawrence, one year additional confinement, and one month solitary; J; Wm. Elliott, one year additional confinement, and one month solitary; Chas. Jelfs, not guilty; Jas. W. Wood, one year additional confinement, and one month solitary; Thos. Kane, one year additional confinement, and one month solitary; Jno. F. Parsons, one year additional confinement; Wm. Tracy, alias Wm. Smith, one year additional confinement, and one month solitary; Jno. W. Brown, one year additional confinement. The Judge set aside the verdict as to Wood, and granted him a new trial.

100 dollars reward. --My boy Harrod ran away in June last from Major Smith, Charlotte C. H, Va. He is about 23 years old; quick spoken; black complexion; stout frame; about 5 feet 8 or 10 inches high. Receiving stolen goods. --Joseph Rose, mate of the sloop Empire, was before the Mayor yesterday to answer the charge of receiving fourteen pads of cotton yarn, valued at $280, knowing the same to be stolen of Messrs. Barker & Woody. Mr. Woody testified that he purchased the cotton of Mr. Smith, on Cary street, and ordered it to be sent to the store corner of 17th and Main streets. The negro drayman took the yarns to the dock and delivered them to Rose, who afterwards denied knowing anything about them. The investigation was adjourned till this morning for other witnesses.
