Stanton's Dispatches It is a very adroit arrangement of the Lincoln Government to establish a telegraphic correspondence between Washington and New York--Secretary of War Stanton at the Washington end, and Collector Dix at the New York end — for the purpose of communicating th0; nor could they keep it there. Chase, aided by a telegraph from Stanton, which threw dust in the public eye, contrived to bring it down to 187¾. So artfully contrived have been Stanton's messages to Dix, that the Northern public are now completely bamboozled — They have been eawhat the Government expected of him ! The brazen assurance of Stanton's announcements to the public, through Dix, down faces all questio They either do not allow their minds to inquire into the fact, or Stanton's messages have enveloped the past of the Virginia campaign in so his excited appeal to national thanks and rejoicing for victory.
