--Dr. James M. Bell, of Luray, Va., who was one of the citizens seized by Steinwehr, as hostages against the Virginia guerrillas, died a few days ago at his home.
He was discharged by Steinwehr on account of ill health, which has now resulted as above stated.
He was a brother- in-law to Ex-Gov. Smith.
