Stratton, long an officer of the city, and late First Auditor. Mr. Saunders offered the following preamble and resolutions: Whereas, it has pleased God, in His all wise providence, to remove from us by death our late estimable and efficient Auditor, Moses L. Stratton, whose long services in the employment of the city, first as Register of the City Water Works, elected to that office for a number of years by the almost unanimous voice of the citizens, and for the past five years as Audhose duties have been discharged, have endeared him to every member of the Council. Death of an old citizen. --Mr. M. L. Stratton, the City Auditor, and for many years Register of the City Water Works, died at his residence on Tuesday night last, after a long and painful illness.
