A Villainous act. --Three men, named John A. Stuart, Edward Mullan, and John McGaw, have been arrested and committed to jail at Charleston on the charge of robbing the Sisters of Mercy. The property stolen was valued at between five and six thousand dollars. It consisted of two bags of coffee, three large chests of tea, and two boxes of soap. It appeared from the evidence that the prisoners represented themselves, as soldiers from Virginia, and while in the hospital there had received great kindness and attention from the Sisters in attendance on the sick and wounded soldiers.
