Indictments found. --The Grand Jury of the Confederate District Court, John L. Tate, Esq., foreman, assembled yesterday to take into consideration the case of Geo. W. Elam, charged with counterfeiting the Treasury notes of the Confederate States. Two bills of indictment were found against the defendant, one containing ten and the other nine counts. The defendant will be arraigned for trial in a few days.

Mr. Saunders asked the friends of the resolution not to press it to its passage to day, as there were many who desired to obtain information on the subject before voting upon it. The motion to lay on the table was adopted. A second message was received from the Senate, communicating the adoption of the House resolutions for the appointment of a Committee on the State of the Country; upon which the Speaker named the following gentlemen to compose the committee on the part of the House: --Messrs. Newton, Bouldis, Rutherfoord, Tate, Minor, Treadway and Pallory. Mr. Newton offered the following preamble and resolutions, which, on his motion, were referred to the Committee on the State of the Country. M., st which time the Military Committee reported, in secret session, upon the subject of the State defences.
