House of delegates. Tuesday, March 5, 1861. The House was called to order at 11 o'clock A. M., by Speaker Crutchfield. A message was received from the Senate announcing the passage of House bills for the relief of Joshua H. Staats, late Sheriff of the county of Jackson; changing the time of holding the Circuit Court in the town of Danville; incorporating the Staunton Arms and Ordnance Manufacturing Company; also, Senate bills incorporating the Southern Institution for the amelioration of the condition of the deaf, dumb and blind negroes of the Commonwealth; for incorporating the Maryland and Virginia Coal Oil Company, in the county of Taylor.
