Another naval engagement near New Orleans. Augusta, Oct. 21. --The New Orleans Trust Delta, of the 18th inst., says an engagement took place at noon on the 17th inst., between the Confederate gun-boats Jackson and Ivey, and two Federal steamers, near the head of the Passes. The shot of the Jackson fell short, but the Ivey pursued the Federals down to the Southwest Pass, after which she returned to the head of the Passes.

Another naval engagement. Advices from New Orleans state that on the 17th inst., at midday, the Confederate steamer Jackson, Capt. Gwathmey, going down the Southwest Pass, discovered two Federal steamers, one supposed to be a new gun-boat, and the other the South Carolina. They stopped at the head of the Passes, meeting the Ivy, and opened upon our steamers with long range guns. The fire was returned by the Ivy but the guns of the Jackson being unable to reach the enemy, she retired. The enemy's vessels, finding the Ivy's fire disagreeable, finally hauled off. One shell burst under the bow of the large Federal steamer during the engagement, and another under that of the small one.
