Bristol, Tenn., Sept. 25. In order to give a general idea of the situation hereabouts I will state that the main body of our forces held Zollicoffer and Carter's Depot previous to Wednesday last. On that day the forces at Carter's Depot or Watauga bridge were ordered to fall back to Zollicoffer, which they did.
