ktown July 25, and on Sept. 29, 1862, marched to Suffolk, Va., and remained in camp there during the autumn, engaging in slight skirmishes from time to time. On Jan. 30, 1863, the battery engaged in action at Deserted House, Va. It was engaged at Franklin March 17, 1863. During the investment of Suffolk, Va., April 11 to May 3, the battery was present and was engaged on April 12, 14 and 15. On May 3 it took part in an action on the Providence Church Road; was engaged in an expedition to Carsville May 13 to 21, one section under Lieutenant Farrar being engaged at Holland's House. On July 4, 1863, the battery was engaged at South Anna River; moved to Fortress Monroe and on to Washington, going into camp there July 22; on duty at New York city from August 21 to Sept. 11, 1863; returning then to Washington it was stationed at Camp Barry, D.
