te officers, marched into the town, remained there some two or three hours, molested no person or thing, and then marched out again, in the direction of Martinsburg. On Monday following a squad of Yankee cavalry entered the town and repaired to the residences of Rev. Dr. A. H. H. Boyd, and P. Williams and R. Y. Conrad, Esqs., whom they arrested and carried off in the direction of Martinsburg. It is supposed that they have been taken as hostages for those Unionists recently captured at Berkeley Springs by Capt. O'Ferrall. There is one thing connected with the arrest of these gentlemen which should not be lost sight of, and which should command the attention of our Government, viz: Some two or three days previous to their arrest, two very prominent Unionists of Winchester paid a visit to Martinsburg, and doubtless were instrumental in having these gentlemen arrested.
