received a present of Byron's cavalry helmet,--certainly a rare trophy. This helmet hung for many years on the hat-tree at Dr. Howe's house in South Boston. Doctor Howe's mysterious imprisonment in Berlin in 1832 is the more enigmatical since Berlin has generally been the refuge of the oppressed from other European countries.
