Gen. W. H. T. Walker.
Gov. Brown, of Georgia, has conferred upon the above-named officer the appointment of Brigadier General in the forces of that State.
In his letter of acceptance.
Gen. Walker says:
The position of General on the Po Jackson, and it will be my pride to serve under him, and to render him all the aid in my power in preserving the soil of Georgia intact from the ruthless footsteps of the invaders.
