Gold and bank Notes.
--The rates of premium remain unchanged, and there is, literally, "nothing doing." We quotations.
Bonds and Stocks.--This is the dullest period of the year in the stock market, and it was never more inactive than at the present time.
Prices are nominally unchanged.
North Carolina bonds are firmer, though there have been no sales for several days.
Before the close of the week the January dividends will have been disbursed, and we may then expect a more active demand for stocks.

Charged with murder
--Two man, named Calvin Williams and Elber A. Helms, of North Carolina, were brought to Richmond yesterday, and lodged in the military prison, for trial on the charge of resisting the militia officers when they attempted to arrest them as conscripts, and afterwards killing two of the enrolling officers in Burke co., N. C.--These desperadoes were afterwards arrested by Major A. W. McAvery and handed over to the military authorities.
