Nathaniel Hawthorne, the author, died Monday morning at Plymouth, New Hampshire. He was stopping at Plymouth to the course of a journey for the benefit of his health, and was in company with Ex President Franklin Pierce. He had been suffering with general debility for some time, but retired to bed last night as well as usual. At three o'clock in the morning, however, he was found dead in his bed by Ex President Pierce. The Right Rev. Bishop Lynch, of Charleston, S C has arrived safety at Halifax, & C, via Bermuda and per steamer Alpha.
