our instructions, we proceed to state the facts in relation to the capture of Galveston, Texas, on the first of January, 1863, as elicited by the testimony before the court of inquiry. The naval force in possession consisted of the Westfield, Clifton, Harriet Lane, Owasco, Sachem, and Corypheus.
