Logan's headquarters to-day that the rebels, supposed to be Roddy's command, attempted to cross the Tennessee river at three different ferries. but were driven back by General Dodge's troops. Our loss was very slight. A dispatch from the department of Western Virginia, in speaking of the capture of twenty five of Mosby's men, says: Yesterday Major Cole while in command of a portion of the First Maryland cavalry battalion, had a skirmish at Piedmont Station, Fauquier county, with Mosby's command.
