Runaways. --The following named slaves left the Piedmont Railroad, at Danville, and are now at large. Small pox in Danville. --The small pox has made its appearance in the military hospitals in Danville. Four cases have occurred there, of which only one has died. Twenty five dollars reward. --Ranaway from the Piedmont Railroad Company, on Sunday night, October 5th, a Negro man named Wilson Hill, 5 feet 7 inches high, black, with black eyes, has a scar on the left elbow, large mouth, low forehead, about 35 years old, and formerly belonged to Mr. A. Thweatt, of Dinwiddie county. The above reward will be paid for his apprehension and delivery to me, if taken within the State, and $50 if taken in another State. E. D. The above mentioned negroes ranaway from the service of the Piedmont Railroad Company, at Danville, between the 4th and 24th of September. The Legislature. In the Senate, yesterday, the bill to amend the charter of the town of Danville was taken up and passed. A communication was received from the Governor, transmitting a letter from the President, relative to the arrest by the enemy of Messrs. Small and Harrison, members of the General Assembly. The letter expressed the hope of obtaining their release at an early day. The bill authorizing the Governor to dismiss militia officers, in certain cases, was taken up and hem, it would appear invidious to pass the resolution under consideration. The Senate then adjourned to the first Wednesday in January, 1863. In the House, the following bills were passed:--House bill amending the charter of the town of Danville; Senate bill amending an act requiring any person taking out a license to take an oath not to pass small notes; (It absolves the applicant for a license from taking the oath, when the commissioner assesses him at four times the amount of his ass
