In the county the old incumbents of the offices of Commonwealth's Attorney, Clerk of Circuit Court, Clerk of County Court, and Commissioner of the Revenue for District No. 2, are re- elected without opposition. For Sheriff it is believed that P. H. Huff man has beat John A. Hutcheson. At six o'clock, an hour before the closing of the polis at the Court-House, Huffman was one hundred ahead, and at Dickman's, on the Brook road, thirty ahead. For Justices of the Peace, John Nettles, James E. Riddick, and Elijah Baker, are certainly elected. At six o'clock P. M., at the Court-House, G. W. Thomas was 93; John E. Friend, 87; and John C. Hughes, 74. For Constable, Robinson stood 104, Sutherland 164. For Overseers of the Poor, Miles C. Eggleston and Samuel G. Flournoy were re-elected without opposition. The highest number of votes cast at the Court House was 240, for Mr. Folkes.
